Sony announced the PS3 Slim officially at gamescom just moments ago. We’ve got eleven hi-res images of the hardware, as well as some sparse details:

- September release
- 1/3 smaller and lighter
- 1/3 more power efficient
- 120 GB hard drive
- No backwards-compatibility with PS2 titles
