What are the Hero Games?
The Hero Games are the player vs. player systems that include a series of events or locations our players can participate in to earn fame and rewards. We are launching with three Ultimate Tournament of Champions arenas, one BASH map and one Apocalypse map called Stronghold, which we’ll be playing). More of these specialized areas will be available after launch. (Players will also be able to duel each other at any time, but the Hero Games are a separate, richer feature.)
The UTC: Think of the Ultimate Tournament of Champions as a highly-publicized, grand combat event like the gladiatorial battles from ancient Rome. The Ultimate Tournament of Champions features team maps where the objective is to get a certain number of victories before the other team. UTC fights are “pure” team PvP – if you lose, you’ve nobody to blame but yourself (and your teammates).
