By far one of the bigger announcements at the Nintendo Media Briefing this morning may have also been one of the more overshadowed ones due to the other killer titles announced. And though there is a lot of mystery about specifics in reference to any details about the title, Golden Sun DS is definitely a warm welcome that came out of nowhere from the Nintendo camp. I’ve been a huge fan of the series thus far and after witnessing the open-ended finish from Golden Sun: The Lost Age, I and many other fans had been left in the dark about any support for a future title. After six years and no news, the series slowly became forgotten.
At E3 this year, it was obvious that Nintendo needed to finally deliver a press conference that addressed hardcore fans and after Microsoft’s knock out conference, we believe that Nintendo decided to add a few new titles here or there to whet the appetite of hardcore fans such as myself and attempt to maintain the spotlight. This is most definitely why Golden Sun DS has little to no information aside from a 2010 release date and a brief trailer. For instance, after asking a few of the local Nintendo representatives if you could transfer the characters over from The Lost Age, they said that Nintendo seriously gave them no information on the game.
However, they did mention that tomorrow might be the day that more information is leaked from Nintendo, so we’ll definitely be back to ask more questions if this is the case. Stay tuned to DigitalChumps’ E3 coverage for more info on the game and get excited.
