Average Joe’s Vs Globo Gym
Dodgeball is the story about two rival gyms. The Globo Gym, run by Ben Stiller’s character, White Goodman, is a wealthy gym that is trying to buy out Average Joe’s, another gym run by Vince Vaughn’s character, Peter La Fleur, that has a severe money problem. When Katherine Veach, a bank attorney played by Christine Taylor, visits Average Joe’s to foreclose the property, she begins to fall to Peter’s charm and eventually joins him in trying to save the gym. How are they going to keep their gym from being taken over by the greedy White Goodman? By entering the International Dodgeball tournament in Vegas that has a grand prize of $50000.
But the ragtag bunch at Average Joe’s are hardly ready, much less coordinated. Rip Torn’s character, Patches O’Houlihan, a former dodgeball champion, comes to the aid of Peter and his team to help them defeat the other teams, including White Goodman’s team, the Purple Cobras. Lots of physical comedy ensues as the Average Joe’s get prepared for the tournament of a lifetime.
