Mirror’s Nudge

Going into E3, there were few titles other than Mirror’s Edge that I absolutely had to get my hands on. This proved to be difficult; however, as it was not on the show floor and we had no suite appointment with EA.  Still, a little determination and a lot of begging eventually got me into EA’s room and right in front of Mirror’s Edge…and six other people who actually had appointments.  So I patiently waited and watched the EA rep explain and the demo over and over, and I watched five other people play through the same levels, and then, an hour later, I finally had my shot at Mirrors Edge.  And then, a minute into my realized dreams, disaster struck.

Reggie Fils-Aimé, better known as the president of Nintendo, was stopping by and he (as well as his elite squad) sought some time with Mirrors Edge – and I had to give up the stick.  I considered waiting again, but then other people who actually had appointments were given priority.  I wasn’t going to play it anytime soon, so I instead I went downstairs and got to mess around with Little Big Planet and Killzone 2.  They told me to come back and check in later, which I did at least five times only to discover a larger congregation each time out.  Such is life.
