Just eleven months ago, me and some friends teamed up for Arrowhead Studios' Gauntlet reboot, and had a good time despite a few flaws. PS4 owners can get on the action now with the Slayer Edition that was released earlier this month.

Gear up, soldier!  War is upon us for the first time... again.  The Coalition, subsidiary workhouse of Microsoft Studios, has taken up the mantle to continue the heralded Gears of War franchise, following in the combat boot steps of Epic Games and People Can Fly.  While the series' next chapter, Gears 4, is slated for next year, our 2015 GoW on Xbox One appetites are whetted with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.  A 1080p, 60fps re-release of the 2006 classic that expanded Microsoft Studios' shooter prestige and gave the 360 its first true exclusive franchise boon.

There are people who care about Formula 1 more than you or I care about anything. F1 2015 rewards their passion with an impressive simulation of not only the actual races, but a slice of the elegant culture surrounding the sport. Unfortunately, F1 2015 doesn't have room for much of anything else, finding itself lapped by modern peers in expected features and ease of approach.

Abyss Odyssey is an impressive experiment with questionable practicality. From a Chilean team with a passion for surreal adventure, it hits expected marks. As a roguelike-platformer with a fondness for fighting game mechanics, it's susceptible to chaos.

Victor Vran is a dungeon-crawling, monster-hunting action RPG from the makers of Tropico 5. It's similar to Diablo III and Dungeon Siege, featuring fast-paced hack and slash action with a lot of gameplay mechanics and a cool story that's best played in co-op.

That, good folks, is a helluva game title to remember. The gameplay needs to follow suit.

Petroglyh's sci-fi RTS, Grey Goo, recently expanded with the Emergence DLC. It's a three-mission mini-campaign that builds off of the story of the original title, and lets players control the first hero unit in the series.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited makes its way to the PlayStation 4. How does it translate onto console from its PC brethren? Quite well, surprisingly.
