I Am Setsuna Featured New
PlayStation 4
Written by Jonny Herrera     July 21, 2016     0   1   0   0   0
The story takes place in a snowy barren landscape that has been infested with monsters. When you first start out, you are introduced to one of the main characters along the journey, Endir, who is a swift swordsman from a tribe full of mercenaries. Later as you progress, you come across Setsuna who needs to travel across the lands to rid all of the monsters through a ritual sacrifice. Throughout the journey you’ll meet your typical JRPG stereotypes (brute, healer, support, etc), which support and aid Setsuna, as she progresses through her pilgrimage. Now, if this sounds familiar, it’s because Final Fantasy X had a very similar story, in which Yuna sacrificed herself to rid Sin, a ferocious monster that destroyed everything within it’s path. With that being said, that was the only correlation I found between the two games, as I am Setsuna really displays a more nostalgic feel, with a modern twist on the JRPG genre of video games.

Maybe the best game from a movie license ever? It certainly seems that way.

This is like a vehicle going from second to fifth gear and then hitting neutral. Manageable, but not an ideal situation.

Online ideas are nice when there is an online community and technological backbone to back up that idea.

Tonight was a night off from reviewing. Umbrella Corps was on the docket tomorrow, so tonight was a night of relaxation and rest. I had planned on spending time with the kids, petting the cats, sipping on Coca-Cola Life and just kicking back. One email from Bandai Namco Entertainment ruined it all. *whispers* Thank you.

After nearly two decades of reviewing games, few have hooked me on concepts that send me spiraling into a weekend gaming session where I shun my poor kids and am driven to finish it. I think Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition was one such game, which I finished 100%, and now you can add OXENFREE to that short list.

There is an incredible amount of guilt that comes with this game. Just an incredible amount included. It’s like GOTY guilt.

Nothing like a little freedom in a series to make it great again.
