After watching Madden and FIFA make the jump to the Next Generation with their 2014 editions, Puck Heads were asked to patiently wait a year for their beloved hockey franchise to arrive.  The wait is now over, friends.  We can all stop sobbing into our NHL licensed Snuggies.  NHL 15 has skated onto the nextgen ice, bringing with it the most impressive presentation I have ever seen in a hockey game.  Tweaks to the physics engine have insured that EA’s NHL next generation debut delivers more than just a facelift.  Everything from hip checks to puck play feels appropriately impactful and responsive.  The core gameplay feels as solid as ever.  And thanks to a focus on presentation, it looks amazing.

Japan has been enjoying Tales of Xillia 2 since 2012, but it just arrived on our shores last week. Was it worth the wait?

A fun as hell ultimate edition that plays extremely well on the PS4 and offers more than just the Reaper of Souls expansion and the latest code.

This isn’t F1, but it isn’t Ridge Racer either. It’s a good mixture of both.

Ah, updates and remakes. Some work, some don’t. Thankfully, this one very much works.

UFC Featured
PlayStation 4
Written by Nathaniel Stevens     June 17, 2014     0   1   0   0   0
Ultimate Fighting Championship has taken a long road when it comes to video games. Battling to convince the world in the late 2000s that UFC’s MMA style was a sport, they found a video game home with THQ. What came out of that home was nothing short of success. From 2009 - 2012, THQ sold millions of copies of UFC and it became a huge title for both entities. One entity was able to market itself to a demographic that could make it money, while the other found a title to help its company stay afloat (THQ).   Then THQ went the way of the Dodo bird. Electronic Arts swooped in and snagged the license, and this year will be the first UFC title produced by the video game giant. How did EA Sports and EA Canada do? Come see.

Live from current gen consoles, IIIIIIIITTT'S TIIIMMEE!  For the first time, EA Sports is releasing an mma game under the UFC banner, with a brand new fighting experience utilizing the company's Ignite Engine.  Insane graphical prowess and intricate systems is slightly hampered by an overly complicated striking control scheme.

MachineGames and Bethesda reboot the genre's oldest, paying respects along the way while giving it a next-gen sizzle that action gamers shouldn't miss.
