Clean up your kit, dust off those boots, hit the pitch, and prepare for kickoff!  EA Canada is back for another season with a brand new marquee mode and a burgeoning engine application.

NHL 17 is the third iteration in EA’s long running hockey series to grace the Xbox One.  Fans of the series likely recall how NHL 15 short changed players with a feature-thin offering. Then with NHL 16, EA made up for the shortage by delivering a more fleshed out title adding, among other things, a practice mode boasting more than one skater. Seriously. NHL 15 gave you a single skater in practice mode. There was no way to practice passing or anything resembling a real offense beyond the break away. Fortunately that lonely practice skater is gliding on the ice of a rapidly fading memory, friends. For now we turn our attention to NHL 17 to see if what they say about the third time being the charm is true.

One Piece: Burning Blood
PlayStation 4 Nathaniel Stevens   June 26, 2016   0   1   0   0   0
Bandai Namco Entertainment has it going on with their anime licenses lately. Naruto was amazing both visually and in the gameplay department. It’s still one of my favorite titles from the last year. Hopefully Spike Chunsoft’s One Piece: Burning Blood can follow suit or at least make for a better experience than the last One Piece game I reviewed.

Nintendo, you’re slowly convincing me that I have to play Pokémon, something I’ve been trying to avoid since the 90s. Don’t kill me, I had college and life to think about.

Mortal Kombat XL
PlayStation 4 Steven McGehee   March 07, 2016   0   4   0   0   0
Mortal Kombat XL is a kontent-packed re-release of last April's Mortal Kombat X, featuring new characters, the latest balance tweaks, and the tightest netcode, and more. This may be the best Mortal Kombat title ever released.

This is what it must feel like taking the most beautiful person to prom and not having a single, meaningful conversation with them.  But hey! They’re still beautiful enough to have people talking.
