In 1953, Audrey Hepburn starred alongside one of my favorite actors of all time, Gregory Peck, in the classic romantic comedy Roman Holiday. Paramount is re-releasing this film to DVD this month as part of their Centennial Collection series which remasters these classic films, adds new extra features, and puts them in a great package.

Few, if any, films stack up to the original Sabrina when it comes to a star studded classic romantic comedy. The classic film comes to DVD again this month from Paramount, who is set to re-release several of their best films in their catalog under the Centennial Collection name.

What do you get when you combine the elements of a western, spy gadgets, espionage, and science fiction? Nothing less than The Wild Wild West, a TV show by CBS from the late 1960s. Over the course of four seasons and over one hundred episodes, the duo of Robert Conrad and Ross Martin face all sorts of foes and bizarre encounters including foreign military commanders, the infamous Dr. Loveless, robbers, murderers, mad scientists, a living house, hidden gold – even a nuclear explosion in one of the two TV movies, which see the light of DVD for the first time.

Actor Danny McBride (Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder) stars as a fumbling Tae Kwon Do instructor in the 2006 film, The Foot Fist Way. Fans of McBride may be interested to see some of his earliest work, but everyone else can safely skip this one.

I’ll start with pure honesty: I am not a comic book or graphic novel aficionado. I’d never read Iron Man or seen the animated version before I slipped this DVD into my player at home. None of that really matters because Iron Man is a good story and a good film. One doesn’t have to be a previous fan of this character in order to enjoy and appreciate what I hope is only a first installment of a series of Iron Man films Because I didn’t know the Iron Man character, I started with some skepticism about Robert Downey Jr. as “super hero.” Yet, as his on-screen character development of Tony Stark unfolded, it became obvious he is perfect for this role. Our “hero” begins the story as the billionaire heir to his father’s mega-successful weapons corporation. He is a young, self-centered smartass who womanizes and parties his time away between amazing technical breakthroughs in weapons design (he also happens to be a genius computer designer and engineering superstar). Tony travels to Afghanistan to show off his latest, greatest weapon of mass destruction to the military and is kidnapped by terrorists who...

Mythical. A drug. The Italian Star Wars. The touchstone for films about organized crime. So say the contemporaries of Francis Ford Coppola. Referenced in everything from "South Park" to "The Sopranos," this trilogy has achieved an unrivaled infiltration of popular culture. Collectively nominated for 29 Academy Awards, the films won nine Oscars in total. In short, this makes for some damn fine viewing, and this latest collection gives us even more supplements to feed our obsession. This series makes you WISH you were Italian. When first handed the boxed set, I figured that, having seen the films enough to reenact scenes at holiday gatherings, I'd just watch the supplements and then whip something together. However, with the first reference to leaving guns and taking cannolis, I popped in the first DVD…and have been awake and watching ever since. This saga is timeless, compelling, and touching in unexpected ways. The GodfatherThe second greatest American movie of all time, right after Citizen Kane, the movie opens on the day of Don Vito Corleone's daughter's wedding. The story arcs to Shakespearean heights with dialogue that often has double innuendos—multiple viewings are necessary to catch all of the subtleties that create...

Francis Ford Coppola did the unthinkable. He took on the challenge to bring what could be the deepest, most accurate portrayal of a mob family onto the silver screen. His struggle and his triumphant have finally come home in one of the greatest formats anyone could ask for. Welcome to The Godfather Collection: The Coppola Restoration on Blu-ray. Take the collection and the canolis The story of Corleone family in Coppola's classic trilogy is a deep one. It stretches back to Mario Puzo's original book The Godfather. Both author and screenwriter (which is rarely seen these days), Puzo brought this family to life beautifully. The first Godfather film told a very intricately weaved story of a mob family and how it works from the inside. The Godfather Vito Corleone's business and family have one thing in common, respect. He respects his kids and his business partners and has kept his family's business afloat for many years. Along the way all he has asked for in return is respect, and a favor that may never come some day. Getting old in age and wanting...

Jon Favreau has redeemed not only himself, but also redeemed the acting career of Robert Downey, Jr. (who also had something to do with his redemption). The strange part about all of this? The story of Iron Man is certainly one focused on redeeming oneself! The irony. Yeah... the movie can fly Tony Stark is a playboy billionaire. He's got the money, he's got the women, he has everything going in his favor. He owns Stark Industries, a legacy company that makes weapons for the military. His friend Rhodey shares a bit of Stark's success, only through friendship, by loyally standing by Tony's side through thick and thin. When Stark goes to demonstrate his Jericho missile in Afghanistan, he soon finds out that his weapons very well may be causing the death and destruction he is intent on preventing. Captured by the ten rings (a terrorist group) and forced to build the Jericho for them, Stark begins to plan a way out. His invention isn't a missile, rather an armored suit that works against the ten rings and his enemies. Escaping, and causing...

There have been several releases of Grease's Rockin' Rydell Edition. This one, like earlier releases, comes packaged in a special DVD letter sweater. If you love the movie and don't already own it (which is unlikely at this point!), or if you have to have the new special features, this is a thorough collector's edition. What can be said about Grease that hasn't already been repeated, adnauseam? The movie that launched worldwide careers and reinvigorated atheatrical genre has now been available to the world for over 3decades. A successful stage-to-screen adaptation from the 70s--31 yearsago, to be exact--this movie out-ages this reviewer by several years. Aclassic coming-of-age story, Grease is a quintessential sing-along flick and is due for another revival in popularity; its last surge was about a decade ago. Will poodle skirts accompany it?The highest-grossing movie musical of all time has been released againon DVD, 6 years after it was initially premiered in the format. Thespecial features are the only unique attributes of this release, andthey're really only for the big-time Grease fans. These features, all gathered or created long after the movie itself, have a very nostalgic feel, which is only appropriate for...

A movie that will challenge everything you thought you knew about Mike Meyers as a comedic phenomenon—in a bad way.

Myers has been a comedic genius for nearly all of his films. Lately he seems to be tapering off on what he wants to do and this type of in-decision may have affected his latest comedy, The Love Guru. Read on... Bad Karma First, the story. Guru Pitka is a famous man who helps to straighten out the lives of individuals who desperately need to work out bad vibes. When Darren Roanoke, a very popular Maple Leafs player (that's hockey!), leaves his wife (who quickly finds herself a man in Jacques Grande), Pitka is hired to keep Roanoke's life together on the ice, while trying to correct the life off of it. Pitka finds it difficult, not impossible, to get Roanoke back on his original path and back to his wife. In the meantime, Pitka finds love in the Maple Leafs owner Jane Bullard, who also feels the same way. I'm a huge fan of Mike Myers. I loved him in So I Married an Axe Murderer, Wayne's World, Austin Powers (1-3), Shrek (1-3) and the Shrek Christmas special (coming to DVD soon -- very excited about...

Who amongst us hasn't run up a flight of steps and then jumped around, cheering like an imbecile and challenging Apollo to a rematch? For those of you who would prefer to army crawl from your cubicles to the copy machine just to keep things interesting, set Pop-rocks-and-Coke landmines in the restrooms and doodle dragon slayers on the backs of TPS reports, this film captures that air of free-spirited fun.Set in the early 1980s, "Son of Rambow" presents two British urchins who come together to make a film that will be featured on Screen Test, a British amateur filmmaker's competition. And yes, while it's about (small) dudes playing other dudes, it's got a great deal more back story to offer than "Tropic Thunder." Lee Carter (played by Will Poulter) is a troublemaker who has a consistent presence in the principal's office. Remarkably akin to Keifer Sutherland's bad-boy beginnings, this kid defines trouble for their school. His differences with William Proudfoot (played by Bill Milner) are juxtaposed in the very beginning: Lee, filming a screening of "Rambo: First Blood," while Will reads aloud from the Bible on a street corner. Will is a child raised within a very strict religious...

I guess you can say that the third time is indeed a charm. I've reviewed the regular DVD version of this movie, the HD-DVD version and now the Blu-ray version. I understand what people saw in the movie. While not completely convinced that Michael Bay did it right, I have a bit more respect for Transformers. More than met the eye So the story goes, Sam Witwicky is a typical teenager. He doesn't appreciate the things in his life and he's only thinking of two things: a car and girls. Now, Sam can certainly get the car, though it may not be the one he wants. Getting the car means he's got a shot with the girls, one in particular named Mikaela. With a stroke of luck, and Mikaela's pig-headed boyfriend out of the way, Sam gets his chance with the girl of his dreams, only to have it dashed by... his car. His car, coincidentally, is a giant robot in disguise. Finding this out the hard way, Sam and Mikaela soon find themselves in the middle of an interstellar war that has spilled onto the planet...

Rarely do we actually get to sit down and review special re-releases. When paramount released their I Love the 80's collections, I just had to beg. So without further delay, let's rock this motha out! Some Kind of Wonderful Hmmm.... how does one describe this movie. The best way to describe it is to simply say it's the most relaxed, tension filled, film in some time. Featuring an all-star cast of young up-and-comers, you've got Eric Stoltz leading the pack as the loser/main character Keith, who has fallen head-over-heels for prom-queen-esque Amanda, played by Lea Thompson. In the background, Keith's best friend Watts (it was cool to be named after power in the 80's), played by Mary Stuart Masterson, is supports and envies his plight for Amanda's love. As you would expect, especially in a John Huges film, love just isn't that easy. In between Amanda and Keith stands pretty-boy, seducer Hardy, played by Craig Sheffer (ice, ice, baby! love that hair). Keith will do anything to get Amanda, while Watts wants nothing more than to make her best friend happy,...
