Back in early February, Paramount was ramping up for the new Friday the 13th film by releasing the original 1980 classic on Blu-ray. At the time, Paramount also re-released Deluxe Editions of the original three Friday films on DVD. Now, Paramount is set to release Part 2 and Part 3 of Friday on Blu-ray. As with the DVD, this is still primarily a fans only release, but there are some differences between this and the DVD version that some ardent fans may want to invest in.

Without a Paddle is the comedy for any person who had a group of childhood friends with whom they went on adventures. Whether those adventures took you out into the great outdoors, or merely around your neighborhood or back yard… Without a Paddle gives a sense of nostalgia as you are treated to an adventure lived out by three unlikely friends long after their imaginations were nearly extinguished with adult responsibility.

Oh, this one brings back memories! Saturday Night Fever came out in 1977 (so, it’s actually been 32 years), moving John Travolta from being a very popular TV actor (playing Vinne Barbarino in Welcome Back, Kotter) to a huge movie star, and giving the Bee Gees a new start in the process. After watching this Blu-ray edition and the many special features, I’m going to have to go get the soundtrack on CD. (The original on vinyl is one of the few records I still own.)

Now, Paramount is re-releasing the series on Blu-ray, starting with Season 1 in this very exciting seven disc set...

Paramount Pictures announced today the impending arrival of Revolutionary Road on Blu-ray and DVD. I don't know much about the film, but it certainly looks like a drama. Can't wait to review it.
