Not only did this scare the crap out of me on DVD, but it doubly does on Blu-ray. You have been warned.

This had some great potential. It really did, and it's a shame because I think the writers wrote themselves into a corner. You hate to see when that happens.

Tim Burton strikes again! His latest project, a silver screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s gratuitously grisly musical Sweeney Todd, is nothing short of brilliant. Starring repeat collaborators Johnny Depp as the titular character and Helena Bonham Carter as his eccentric business partner, Mrs. Lovett, Burton brings this twisted tale to film audiences with the same stylistic panache that made Edward Scissorhands, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and The Nightmare Before Christmas fan favorites.

I have to admit when I received Disturbia on Blu-ray for review after watching the horrendous Transformers movie, I wasn't too excited. What does one have to do with the other? Shia LeBeouf. I was expecting a goofy, shallow thriller film, and that's really what I got...

I work with journalists in a journalism school; I’m privileged to know many journalists. So, I certainly followed with fear and then sadness the story that unfolded over January and February of 2002 about the kidnapping and eventual murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan.

Stardust is a charming and fresh movie. It is a fantasic fairy tale for people of all ages, and even though it is a good family film, it is really more of an adult fairy tale. Watching this film was a really good two hours spent. Films are about being drawn into the fantasy world and this film did that so successfully. You can’t wait to see what is going to happen next and you become completely invested in each of these characters.

That’s right readers! I am dangerous…
Highway to the danger zone… oh, boy
Maverick is a great fighter pilot who is granted admittance into Top Gun flight school. Basically, the best of the best achieve this level of schooling. To get to the ‘best of the best’ status he’ll need to keep his wits about him, fend off rivals – who have a beef with his father, and keep his head in the game and out of the way of his instructor’s lips. Oh yeah, he’ll probably want to avoid getting killed when going up against MiGs.

I hadn’t seen The Untouchables before it came in for review on Blu-ray from Paramount. With an all star cast featuring De Niro, Connery, and Costner, I had high hopes – and they were not only met, but exceeded, both in terms of the movie itself and in its transfer to Blu-ray.
