Way back in March of 2009, Steve Schardein took Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for a spin on its native platform, the Nintendo DS. Later that year in October, Eric did the same on the PSP. Since that time, the game has been ported to the iPhone, and now as of last week, the iPad. Granted, either Steve or Eric would have been better suited to review this than me, but, due to travel and lack of multiple iPads -- well, you get the point. So this newest iteration of Chinatown Wars offers spruced up visuals, multiple control layouts, and it makes great use of the gorgeous iPad screen. While that may already be enough for some, if you're looking for significant changes or addition to the gameplay, you won't find them in this iPad version. But, if you're looking for one of the best iPad games available, you should strongly consider this release from Rockstar Leeds.

Looks like Niko stole you some free Xbox LIVE Gold
All right, cheapskates, we know you're out there; this one's for you!
Microsoft and Rockstar Games will be bringing you six free days of Xbox LIVE Gold online multiplayer in both Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and the Damned beginning on February 17 at 9:00 PST and ending on Sunday, February 22 at 11:59 PST. That means that if you somehow aren't already a member of LIVE and you are reading our site, you can still get in on all the action and discover just what you're missing out on (come on, driving a bus full of teammates through a city, all simultaneously shooting at the rival gang, has to be on our list of most fun online gaming moments of the past year).
Keep in mind that, obviously, this only applies to GTA IV multiplayer. Also, it's no coincidence that on that same day, The Lost and the Damned expansion launches, costing you $20 (1600 Microsoft Points) and no doubt countless hours of your precious time, all spent smiling.
Mark your calendars!

GoNintendo bags some of the first details about Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars' multiplayer, thanks to a reader attending Comic Con. One aspect of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars we haven't heard much about is the multiplayer. Now, thanks to a GoNintendo reader, however, we've got a few major points of basic information. The reader snapped a photo of a promo flyer on the show floor which describes several aspects of the experience. Click here to see the flyer. Here's what it reads (quoting): All new replay feature allows you to replay all of your favorite missions Nintendo Wi-Fi mode means head-to-head and co-op multiplayer mayhem Stat tracking and leaderboards that track your criminal career Epic storyline with tons of side-missions, addictive mini-games and hidden collectibles Woah—co-op? Color us interested. Leave it to Rockstar to show us just what the DS can do. UPDATE: Well, wouldn't you know it, it seems like this information is somehow wrong... or, at least, partially. Joystiq has come to bat with their version of a similar story, but the details are...
