Metro: Last Light
Featured
New
It's been over three years now since 4A Games and THQ released Metro 2033, which I really enjoyed. Now, 4A and Deep Silver are back with the sequel, Metro: Last Light (MLL). Continuing the grim story of Metro 2033, Last Light once again puts the burden of the fate of humanity on Artyom's shoulders. A true sequel, MLL not only picks up very soon after the events of the original game, but it looks and plays very much like it as well.

I enjoyed Black Ops when it came out two years ago, but I always felt like Treyarch was lagging behind Infinity Ward when it came to developing its Call of Duty series. Most people consider Treyarch titles the 'go between' for the new releases of Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare introduces huge maps, Black Ops follows. With that said, while some things stay the same, there are moments where things greatly change. Treyarch throws their Black Ops II hat in the arena determined to prove that they're not second fiddle, and they have taken the chances with Black Ops II to prove it.Without further delay, let's get right to it.

Medal of Honor has always been a game that I enjoyed playing. In 2010, I took great pride in giving the highest score to that Medal of Honor release, which I felt was unappreciated amongst the reviewer community. For whatever reason, a good game was released and most people let it slip by (I even felt like it beat out Black Ops that year). It had a fun single-player campaign and a still-to-this-day addictive multiplayer campaign that was quickly thrown together by the good folks at DICE. So, to say that I was excited about Medal of Honor: Warfighter would be a terrible understatement. It was a game I was looking forward to and one that I felt had enough time to get everything right. The question begs, did they get everything right? Come find out.

007 Legends
Hot
With the 50th anniversary of Dr. No and the release of Skyfall, Eurocom and Activision have teamed up for 007 Legends, a first person shooter that puts players in familiar, yet heavily altered, situations from five Bond movies. Cool idea, let's see how it holds up.

You can call it DLC if you want, but it's just an expansion. That's not a bad thing. Battlefield 3: Armored Kill is the latest release from DICE and EA for their lovely BF3 title. This time the focus is mainly on map size and what armored vehicles (thus the name) you can play. There is no room for Call of Duty grunts running out trying to take out as many people as they can; this is purely for the military strategist. That's a good thing, right?

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor would easily be my favorite motion gaming experience to date, on any platform, but sadly it just doesn't work right enough of the time. Yet I keep coming back for more...

Neither developed by Insomniac nor the system seller many were expecting, Resistance: Burning Skies is nevertheless a pretty good shooter that series fans and genre aficionados should look into.

I'm a sniper by trade. I like hiding in the brush, somewhere off in the distance and snipe the shit out of people. It's the thing I do, and I like doing it. Need proof? Just check out my Battlefield 1943 stats. I like the safety of distance and the challenge of knocking someone out of the game from across the map. It's not camping; it's technique and patience. Battlefield Close Quarters denies me the trade and gift I'm use to in the series. It tells me that I need to grab a PP2000 with x4 sights and run around like a mad man, who continually gets deployed back into the game as if there is some ADHD child respawning me back into action continually. It's an entirely new ballgame, and one that I consider most likely the brother of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 than anything else. Is that sort of comparison fair? Absolutely.
