I have no cable at home. I refuse to purchase it because I feel like there are too many unnecessary channels showing unnecessary shows, and unless they let me pay for the actual channels I want then it simply isn't worth the price. Why I am telling you all this? After reviewing the third season of Fringe, I am now seriously contemplating just getting cable back for the fourth season premiere.

Any list of great sci-fi shows is incomplete without Stargate: Atlantis. The series ran for five seasons, dropping in twenty episodes each year. It carried on the story and intrigue of Stargate: SG-1, one of the most renowned sci-fi franchises of all, and carved out its own special place in TV and sci-fi history.
About sixteen months ago, the complete series came to DVD. Despite 50+ hours of extras, the packaging made that set a real disappointment, not to mention the show was originally filmed in high def. Last week, the complete series was released again, this time on Blu-ray. Resolving both the issues of packaging and presentation quality, while maintaining nearly every extra feature, this box set a truly wonderful release.
