One of the best games of the year arrives on the Wii U in Special Edition form, but just how special is it?

Madden 13 comes out of the locker room for the second half of the season on the Wii U, sporting good Gamepad integration and a missing Impact Engine.

Everything you heard about Battlefield 3 is exactly what you're getting. You're getting a visually beautiful single-player campaign mode and an incredibly deep multiplayer mode. But it's not perfect. Let's talk.

Coming out of EA is the first Sims expansion pack of its kind, somewhat straddling the line between a full-blown extension of the game and an extensive “stuff pack”, if you will. The Sims 3: Generations is unlike other expansions in that rather than providing a fully new sort of experience, it instead chooses to simply weave new content throughout the existing Sims 3 template. Depending on what you expect from the experience and whether or not you appreciate focusing on a single Sim from birth to elderly age, this may or may not be what you’re looking for.

Fight Night Champion is the latest edition in the Fight Night family and it asks only one question: "How bad do you want it?"

EA is set to make its NHL debut on the Wii this week with NHL Slapshot. This game was built specifically for the Wii rather than being ported from the PS3 or Xbox 360. It even includes a special hockey stick controller that holds your Wiimote and Nunchuk. This special Wii NHL game was built with this controller in mind, but standard control schemes are also supported. Sure, the hockey stick accessory looks gimmicky (most Wii accessories are), but if you're looking for a hockey title for a younger or more casual audience, this is a good route to go. Even more seasoned players may get something out of it but nothing really beats the granular control of a gamepad.

Remember when a game of Risk took nearly three hours or more? Those days are over.
