Metro: Last Light Featured New
PlayStation 3
Written by Steven McGehee     May 15, 2013     0   9   0   0   0
It's been over three years now since 4A Games and THQ released Metro 2033, which I really enjoyed. Now, 4A and Deep Silver are back with the sequel, Metro: Last Light (MLL). Continuing the grim story of Metro 2033, Last Light once again puts the burden of the fate of humanity on Artyom's shoulders. A true sequel, MLL not only picks up very soon after the events of the original game, but it looks and plays very much like it as well.

It's a big month for Star Trek, with the release of TNG S03 on Blu-ray, the new JJ Abram's film in theaters, and a videogame. I can tell you the TNG Blu-ray is amazing; I haven't seen the new movie yet obviously, but I bet it's a better value than the new game.

I have a feeling this sub genre is going to be quite prevalent in the upcoming console generation.  The makers of Rift seem to be putting in an early bid.  This action MMORPG from Trion features a sci-fi narrative thread stacked with an abundance of gun battles, exploration, and mode variety.  This isn't a sterling example of AMMORPGs.  But it's solid enough to function, and is a blast to play.

The update of Ninja Gaiden 3 is now out for the Xbox 360 and PS3. These new editions come after the game first arrived on the Wii U last year. Since I don’t have a Wii U, I won’t bother to compare these new versions to the Wii U installment. For more details on the Wii U version, check out Steve McGehee’s review.

A head in the clouds is an idiom normally assigned to the whimsical musings of idealistic dreamers. At Irrational Games it appears to be a declaration of faith. The hype surrounding their follow-up to BioShock was bound to go supersonic, but the wild ambition and blissful imagination that visible in BioShock Infinite's announcement and subsequent preview cycle sent expectations through the troposphere. Irrational was expected to reach for the stars, but what were the odds they were actually going to pull another one down?

FORE... teen!  EA Sports presents the newest entry into its heralded brand of PGA golf, including the usual cast and courses with some new additions, and a fresh set of exclusive Augusta National related content.  The sweet adjustments made to Total Swing Control, a plethora of modes, and on-point presentation creates a console country club well worth the price of membership.

In 2006, Sony Pictures and MGM decided that the James Bond character needed a reboot, as the tale of a gadget laden, smooth talking secret agent had gone stale. They went back and explored Ian Fleming's first short story on the character in a tale called Casino Royale. Determined not to water him down with gadgets, catchy one-liners and a cavalier attitude, they built up a raw individual and broke him down. What came out of that process was a grittier, focused and deadly James Bond that is unlike any previous iteration of the character. And people absolutely loved him. Tomb Raider followed the same path as James Bond.
